To recruit outstanding domestic and international scholars and thereby improve its academic standings, NTU established “Eminence Chair Professorships/Scholar Fellowships” in 2019.
The candidates for the Professorships/Fellowships shall be internationally prominent or demonstrate great R&D potential and have recently been appointed to a teaching or research position at NTU for at least one year. Those who have been awarded an outstanding faculty member or research fellow under the Ministry of Education’s Yushan (Young) Fellow Program with their awarded period concluded are also eligible. Candidates with a rank of associate professor or lower who demonstrate great R&D potential may only be appointed as Eminent Scholars instead of Eminent Chair Professors.
Up to 12 recipients are selected each year to receive a grant over three years under general circumstances.
