To recruit outstanding domestic and international scholars and thereby improve its academic standings, NTU established “NTU Eminence Chair Professorships” in 2019.
In addition to the recruitment effort, to further encourage existing faculty members to advance their academic careers, the program was transformed into “Eminence Chair Professorships” (talent retention) and “Eminence Scholar Fellowships” (talent recruitment) in 2024.
Up to six recipients are selected for “Eminence Chair Professorships” and 12 are selected for “Eminence Scholar Fellowships” each year to receive a grant for up to three years.
