One of the biggest challenges in giving a presentation of an academic paper is to find a style that effectively transfers the language of the research paper into the language of an oral presentation. Often, many presenters communicate their research in the same format and same language used in the paper. While readers may tolerate the formal-sounding, distant and stiff language of academic papers, most presentation audiences cannot easily follow the same language in spoken form. Thus, changing the paper’s language into a more accessible and effective communicative style requires a revision of the paper’s static organization and a change in the style of delivery.
