To support NTU’s teaching and academic endeavors, the former President of Academy Sinica, Dr. Chi-Huey Wong, pledged a donation in 2024 for NTU to establish the “Chair Professorships of Chemical Biology.” This program is expected to boost NTU’s academic standings and its cultivation of scientific talent.
The program selects one Chair Professor of Chemical Biology each year to receive grants. The recipients shall be current NTU full-time faculty members or incoming members who have cleared the recruitment procedure. They shall also be in areas related to Chemical Biology and have exceptional academic achievements. Additionally, one International Chair Professor of Chemical Biology is also selected each year. The recipients shall be internationally renowned scholars in areas related to Chemical Biology. They will be invited to deliver speeches at NTU and correspondingly receive an honorarium and reimbursement of business class flights for the recipient and their spouse, transportation costs, and per diem allowances during their visit.
